More Flowering Thoughts…
I can be as busy as the bees on clover white and red…
as lazy as poppies only moving in the wind…
as bright and blue as the summer coming and going…
as fragil and firm as the pea that flowers but bears no fruit…
less certain than the bindweed that knows what it wants to cling to.

Hi Caddo! Rescued “you” from spam! So glad you enjoyed this one…just something to simply reflect the ‘lazy’ hazy days…

I love the your marriage of words and drawings Diane! “as bright and blue as the summer coming and going…” and the drawing beneath is my favourite of the bunch.

Hi Eve! And thank you for your lovely comment…so glad you have a favorite…and here is something more to delight you from The Flower Fairy Book by Cicely Mary Barker:

Oh, thank you Diane! I feel like I’ve seen this somewhere before… perhaps when I was little.

Hi Diane,
I hope one day you will publish a flora with your drawings for biology lessons in schools etc. These flowers are so beautiful and perfect!

‘I hope one day you will publish a flora with your drawings…’ Well, something like that is in the works (paintings and poetry)! Unfortunately my current (novel) publisher won’t handle it because the color illustrations make it too expensive. So I will probably be self-publishing it in the next couple of months. I have it done except for finishing up the index where I am listing information about all the flowers. Your encouragement in such a project is very much appreciated! XO

Well I encourage you too, Diane…to get a book out of your beautiful flower drawings. I could look at your artwork all day long…just exquisite!

I find myself wanting ALL of these “flowering” personality traits myself this summer, Diane! This may be my new favorite of yours, my dear!

Yes, flowers…nature…animals…can reflect and reveal much about ourselves. I am so glad you enjoyed it, Rose. Thank you so much!

Ah, the moods of summertime… Love the bee in the drawing, and also the line, “as fragile and firm as the pea that flowers but bears no fruit…” How well I understand the pea! Lovely, sweet blue flowers…
