Announcement Regarding my Novel, A House Near Luccoli

Last weekend I received great news! I was offered–and have now accepted–a contract for the publication of my novel, A House Near Luccoli (about the last months of the 17th century Italian Baroque composer Alessandro Stradella), with All Things That Matter Press! They are a small press based in Maine USA whose goal is to publish books that help authors share themselves, and are–as I can attest to–very willing to take on previously unpublished authors who reflect their leaning towards ‘spiritual, self-growth, personal transformation, fiction and non-fiction books with a strong message’. I’m optimistic that this is going to be a very good fit for me. When released the novel will be available in paperback and as an e-book.

Of course after many years of trying to get to this point, I’m very excited and even a little overwhelmed. It’s early days and I will keep my dear blogging family, old and new, updated as the process moves along.  Being a small publisher, a lot of the marketing is in my hands and so I will be on a constant lookout for appropriate sources of promotion, including pre-and-post publication reviews.

I owe so much appreciation to now fellow All Things That Matter Press author and Historical Novel Society member, Marina Julia Neary, for her belief in me and my writing when ‘out of the blue’ she contacted me and offered to introduce me to ATTMP. She has continued to be amazingly supportive as my journey towards publication begins, and I encourage my followers to check out her work (Marina Julia Neary is an award-winning historical essayist, multilingual arts & entertainment journalist, novelist, dramatist and poet. Her latest novel, Martyrs & Traitors, is garnering rave reviews from prominent authors, historians and critics.)

I welcome you to read a short blurb and the opening chapter of A House Near Luccoli (originally posted in August 2011).

Thank you all for your continued interest and support!

  1. Wow, wow and wow!!! Congrats, Diane–I’m so proud of, and thrilled for you! Guess this will pale in comparison, but I’ve nominated you for the Mrs. Sparkly’s 10 Commandments Award (blog…). If you have time and desire to accept it, only! Come by and find out more, unless you’re already familiar. Again, congrats on the book deal!! God bless you richly.

    • Oh, Caddo, thank you so much! I’m very honored by your award and accept it here and hopefully will find the time to do so ‘publicly.’ I will be over to your blog–hopefully–today as I have some catching up to do. Doing the groundwork for the publishing thing is taking up a lot of my time and mental energy right now (and of course I’ve been crazy-busy at the day job!) but I WILL NOT forget my wonderful blogging community. I SO appreciate your good wishes. Blessings!

  2. Oh Diane, I am completely overjoyed for you! I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy of your book, when the long process of publication is over, and I will of course spread the news throughout my network too (I am assuming I will be able to order copies from London & South Africa).

    Congratulations, and well done.

    • Thank you, Laurel! I so appreciate your best wishes and support. The novel will be available online through various sellers, both as a paperback to order and e-book to download. I am designing the cover myself with my own drawings–hopefully! Another new venture. It is a little crazy in my head right now. Blessings! Diane

  4. Heartiest congratulations, dear bardess! This is an excellent small press to learn about. Please know that I shall paste all over my blog, my Facebook timeline, my twitter account, at LinkedIn, at Pinterest, at DiggIt, at Google+ every press released and publicity item you share with us here! You will definitely want to offer these releases on such sites of your own, at online booksellers sites, online newsletters and newspapers and magazines. Anyway, I am sure your publisher will guide you in all of this. Hooray, Diane!

    • Thank you so much, Granbee! Yes, it is quite remarkable how I was pointed to this press…in that big sea of agents and publishers it’s an almost impossible swim to find one fitting and willing! I feel truly blessed for this opportunity. AND for such friends I’ve made in the blogging sphere–like you! Thanks for the tips…I have just begun to venture into all the available venues for publicity and it’s certainly going to keep me busy!

      Blessings!

    • Thank you, Christine, I so appreciate your good wishes! I began this particular novel over 6 years ago, and wrote it over 3 years of reclusiveness except for going to the day job. I have held onto the dream of getting it published and feel so blessed that this is going to happen now. I will keep you posted. Thanks again for your support and love. It is returned from the depths of my heart! Hugs, Diane
