Rain is grace; rain is the sky descending to the earth; without rain, there would be no life.
John Updike
So the rain never left us, just hesitated to refresh us, while hoping to remind us
that nothing grows with sun alone; thirst is one moment closer to hunger, and heat can wear out its welcome
for those who look for the willowherb to rise in sight of water, and the lily pad to float and blossom further out of its depths.

Yes…blessed is the rain. Love your beautiful paintings as always. Waterlilies are so pretty bobbing on top of lakes… We’ve been getting some good afternoon rains this summer and could have a category 1 hurricane bearing down on Florida by the weekend…we’re keeping an eye on it.

“Blessed is the rain”–oh, Amen! I “go to church” online in Southlake, TX–and last week they were praying fervently for rain, in desperate need. This weekend they reported with great rejoicing and thanksgiving, that they had RAIN!! Your words and art always make for a refreshing (as rain) visit, Diane–and I was ready for it, after a heat wave that was so uncomfortable. God bless you–love, Caddo
