Thanks Given

Copyright 2012 by Diane’s Mom, June

Snapdragons still bloom

wintery chills loom

pumpkins for taking

pies in the making

sunshine falls brightly

forgotten nightly

shadows stretch designs

all nature resigns

arresting in growth

a mutual oath

leaves fallen in faith

barrenness awaits

beyond the ending

hope is transcending.

Thanks are now given

 for earth and heaven.

Note: The painting was done by my mom, June, on a  ceramic tile and is part of our autumn decorations.

Happy Thanksgiving to my US friends and Blessings to all!

  1. Hi Diane, this is beautiful, the poem and the painting by your mother, you are a good team! “Beyond the ending hope is transcending!”
Hope you had a good thanks giving! ♥

  2. Just what I needed this morning Diane!! Your writing is always so uplifting for me. There is such a sense of calm in this and acceptance too, that things are exactly as they are meant to be right now, even in adversity. Because life keeps going on and round and is just where it should be, as we are where we should be, even if it doesn’t feel right to us at the time.

And I love it when you provide us with a sample of your mums art; she has, and of course so do you have exceptional talent. This is such a cosy picture, and “cosy” has never been so important to me as it is right now. Plea pass on thanks to your mum for letting us see a little bit more of her 🙂

    Lots of love

    • Such a beautiful comment, Christine. I am so glad to offer calm and acceptance, as a reminder as much to myself as to others of how there is always something to be grateful for. My mom thanks you too! Blessings, love and hugs, Diane ♥

  3. Oh WOW, Diane–I love the poem so much, and the painting is very beautiful, as well. Such reverence in both offerings. God bless you–love, Caddo
