How to Handle Worry

It’s snowing!

April fools!

Though I’m not fooling

and not fooled;

anymore than the budding daffodils,

or the growing grass,

or the crocuses

already full-grown,

closed for warmth

and, maybe, so they won’t worry.

Writing note: I tell a lie – it isn’t snowing today, but it was April 1st, so posting a few days late. Actually, today is lovely: songbird sunny and pleasantly expectant. Hope it is for you, too.

Poem: Almost April Fools

already full grown
but closed for warmth
and maybe
so they won’t see.

Writing Note: Actually the crocus flowers here have already withered due to the sunny summer temperatures we had the week before last (this is a piece I wrote many years ago…) But it did snow overnight! And the daffodils are bowing low, in homage to Mother Nature…or murmuring something less deferential under their breath?
